As you all know 7G went to Calvert Trust for residential at the beginning of January.
On our arrival to Calvert we had an explore of the site, looking at the games room and then we went to get our kit! We all had to have waterproof coats and jackets and some wellies! All of 7G settled in very well on the first night, had a lovely tea and went swimming!
It was time for our activities! Our first activity was horse riding and grooming. All of the children had their own individual horse, and got the opportunity to go on a short ride! They loved it. Some of the children also did some grooming of the horses, one called Haggis and one called Pepsi.
Later on, we had a go at some archery! All of 7G were amazing and got the shot onto the board!
In the afternoon after we warmed up with some soup and sandwiches, we went out to do a challenge activity. We climbed over things, under things and had a swing on the park! Some of us even tried to hide in some very small spaces!
On our third day, we woke up and there had been lots of snow! but we spent our morning inside having a go at some rock climbing!
Some of us got all the way to the top, and some of us had a go at abseiling. We also had a go at the big swing which was very fast and very scary! But the children loved it! They weren't scared like Miss Hendy!
In the afternoon, we had a walk up a biiiiiiiiigggg hill called Latrig. Whilst we were up there we had some fun the snow, throwing snowballs at Mr Lomas and Nick our instructor. We also had a look at the beautiful views.
On our final day of activities, we went and pretended to be monkeys on the high ropes! This was something very new at Calvert so we were very lucky. All of 7G were very very brave having a go as it was very very high!
We then had a chilled out afternoon, warming up by the fire making scones and toasting marshmallows. We also had a go at lighting our own sparks!
On the evening, we all put on our party clothes! We went to the disco where we had a dance, spent time with our friends and bought some presents. We were very tired though and went to bed early ready to return home!
We had an amazing time, and we will be showing some more of our lovely trip soon!
