Welcome to our History curriculum page.

History is a national curriculum subject which is often taught subtly in our teaching approaches within school.

History fires pupils’ curiosity in Britain and the wider world. Through our thematic approach in cross curricular lessons, pupils consider how the past influences the present, what past societies were like, and what beliefs and cultures influenced people’s actions.  As they do this, pupils develop a chronological framework for their knowledge of significant events and people. Artefacts, visitors and visits to places of interest enrich this learning and enthuse the children. What they learn can influence their decisions about personal choices, attitudes and values.

In history, Children learn to select and organise relevant information and present it in a variety of ways including art, drama and ICT as well as in writing.
