10P have had another busy week this week!
On Monday we had our second visit to the Anderton Centre with 10A. In the morning we all had a go at archery which everyone really enjoyed and did a great job at. After lunch we got some buoyancy aids on and headed down the reservoir to have a go at sailing. Everyone was a little bit nervous about this but we all got on the water and everyone did brilliantly!
On Tuesday morning we split into two groups and half of us stayed in class with Mrs Cobham to do Good to Be Me and the other half of us went to do food tech where we made some chocolate orange muffins. In the afternoon we did some enterprise where we worked on everything we needed for the summer fair at the weekend.
On Wednesday we were looking at Pride. In the morning we all worked together to create a piece of artwork for our equality display and we joined our work with 10A to make one big piece. In the afternoon Mrs Powell did a lesson on Pride and we talked about how important it is to make sure we treat everyone with respect no matter who they are.
On Thursday we had a very fun day at Wood End Farm. In the morning we got to meet the pigs Hector and Humphrey as well as their new baby pygmy goats. We also went to meet their shetland pony Tommy and got to groom him and then we went in to feed their sheep, including Polly and Princesses new babies. After lunch we went to meet the alpacas. There were lots of alpacas there and we got to meet Felix, Paddington and Alfie. Allison, who owns the alpacas, told us that they only liked to be stroked on their necks and to make sure not to stand behind them as they don’t like that and then we got to take them on a walk! Everyone had a really fun day and we all loved meeting all the different animals.
On Friday, in the morning, we did some literacy and all of our learners wrote about what they had done at the farm the day previously and what they liked the most about it. In the afternoon we had golden time and celebration assembly. A big well done to our star of the week Lola, for having a really good week out on our visits!
