10P have had another very busy day at Bendrigg! We got up bright and early this morning and got ready for breakfast which was bacon and hashbrowns as well as toast and cereal. After this it was time to join our groups and head off for our first activity which was zip lining. We were all a little bit nervous about this because for most of us it was our first time having a go. Our group leaders Jenny and Rex looked after us really well and made sure everyone had fun and afterwards we all said that we had a great time!

After a little break to have a hot chocolate and warm up, we went back outside and down to the archery sheds. We took it in turns to shoot arrows and everyone hit the target! It was then time for lunch where we warmed ourselves up with some tomato soup and sandwiches and made sure we were ready for our afternoon activity of rock climbing.

We followed Jenny and Rex down to the climbing wall, where to keep us all safe we had to put harnesses and helmets on. We started off the session by playing a game where we had to touch different coloured handles on the Rockwall to warm us up and get comfortable in the room. Then it was time to climb! Some of our learners shot straight up the wall like mountain goats and some of us were a bit more nervous but we all had to go and everyone did brilliantly!

We had a little bit of chill time before tea, which was sausages and mash tonight, and then we joined Rex again to make our pizzas for tomorrow night’s tea as part of our Duke of Edinburgh expedition. We all had fun rolling out the dough and putting lots and lots of cheese on and we all said they looked super yummy and can’t wait to eat them.

Tonight we’re all super tired and ready for an early night. We all had a shower and got tucked up ready for a big day of canoeing tomorrow!
