What a busy couple of weeks we have had in 10P!
Last week we had our last visit to the Anderton Centre along with 10A. We were all very excited because it was paddle boarding day! We split into two groups each with an XL paddle board and off we went. The instructors got us to play some games where we paddled back and forth to answer questions and then take turns putting parts of our body in the water. We may or may not have had a big splash fight with 10A! By the end of the session nearly everyone had jumped in the reservoir and was drenched head to toe but we were all laughing and had a great time. In the afternoon some of us did the low ropes course and some of us climbed a tree to do the ‘leap of faith’. We have had a great few weeks visiting the Anderton Centre and everyone has asked if we can go back in year 11. Fingers crossed!
For the rest of the week at school it was sports week and we took part in so many different activities - fitness, yoga, Boccia, archery, Indian dancing, tennis, mini golf and more! On the Thursday we had our secondary sports day and everyone did amazing! We all got a chance to represent 10P in a variety of activities throwing, catching, balancing and running.
This week we were very kindly invited to the presentation at Chorley Town Hall for the Britain In Bloom judges responsible for the North West. Both 10P and 10A were invited to accompany Chorley In Bloom and some of their other volunteers on Tuesday to a buffet lunch where Chorley In Bloom talked about the community impact including all the work that we have done with them.
We did so well with our Enterprise stall at the Summer Fair raising lots of money towards our prom, so we arranged to have a stall in the hall at the secondary parents evening on Wednesday. We are also going to have a ‘10P Gift Shop’ from class next Wednesday afternoon where secondary pupils can bring money in to buy some things from us. So this week we designed some flyers showing what we were selling, where and when. Some of us then went around to different classes in school to hand out the flyers to staff and pupils to advertise our shop! On Thursday morning we did some super swimming at Chorley leisure centre and in the afternoon we did our volunteering at the Chorley In Bloom community garden. Some of the vegetables we planted are growing really well!
Our Star of The Week this week is Millie for her super swimming and positive attitude at Chorley In Bloom - well done!
