On Thursday, at schools around the country it was World Book Day, and Astley Park School wasn’t missing out.
We had some great characters within school, and 8P, you didn’t let us down. What great costumes.
Miss Molloy came into our class to deliver some great drama games in the morning.
Firstly we had to get ready for these activities so we shook our arms and legs.
Next 8P stood in a circle and Miss Molloy had a very small imaginary ball. When the ball was small ,our voices had to be small, so we had to whisper the learners name who we were throwing the ball to, so we had to do good listening. But when the imaginary ball got bigger, our voices got louder.
Then we played the main game, Charades. The learners picked out an animal which they had to act out to others and they had to guess the animal. What fantastic acting 8P!
After that we played the staff’s favourite game. Sleeping lions! The learners all laid down on the floor and closed their eyes. When Miss Molloy tapped them on their shoulder they had to get up slowly and sit back in their chair.
Finally, it was the school parade. It was great for the pupils to show off their amazing costumes.
Hope the book tokens come in to good use . There are so many fantastic books out there.
A good World Book Day was had!
