On Wednesday a group of year 11 students attended Newman College for a taster day.
Once the students had all arrived they split into two groups.
Group one took part in an RE session.
They took part in a mindfulness session and concentrated on their breathing and then discussed how it made them feel.
Group two took part in a yoga session and had a mindfulness walk around the college gardens using their senses to se, feel, smell and hear.
Then both groups joined together and spent some time in the social area with other Newman students including some ex Astley Park students.
After this, group one went into the sports hall and they did some boxing, sparing with a partner and some short sprints. They finished the session with some mindfulness, lying on mats and concentrating on breathing.
Group one went to RE and practised some mindfulness.
We all had lunch together in the social area enjoying socialising with each other and other Newman students.
This afternoon we all stayed together and played some card games.
It was a great visit especially seeing some of the rooms we will be in when we become Newman students, and catching up with some ex students from Astley Park.
