With the weather beginning to show signs of improving, and the sun making a reappearance in the sky 10A have begun to have their P.E. lessons outside giving us the chance to put into practice all that we’ve learnt in our fitness lessons over the last few months.
This week we played rounders on the field, and had to be at top speed to run around all of the bases to score points for our teams. All of 10A participated well in fielding and batting, and whilst we may have found batting challenging as we are now using rounders bats which provide more challenge when it comes to hitting the ball we all cheered and encouraged each other to keep trying our best. The fielding team also had to be fast in collecting any balls which were hit as they attempted to catch the batting team out as well as getting the ball to the bases to run the batters out.
Mr Matthews and Mr Preece also joined in with the batting, and we were assisted by pupils from St Michael’s High School who had come to Astley Park School as part of their Duke of Edinburgh work. In the end everyone had a good time whilst working hard, and we’re all hopeful that the weather will continue to allow us to have our P.E. lessons outside.
