On Monday, we began our day with maths, we continued working in our groups and looked at mass. After break, we had English, we recapped personal details and why it’s important to keep our information safe.  We then spoke about what forms we might need to fill in. Today’s task was to do a pretend job application form. We had to think about the skills and qualities you have that would make us good candidates. Then we had a reading test to complete, we had to do this an independently as possible. 
This afternoon we did science,  we looked at where are power comes from. We looked at renewable energy and non renewable energy. We looked at different types of power stations and we looked at the different types of power stations and looked at information sheets and made a document on nook creator to explain what our power station does.

On Tuesday, in the morning, we continued working on mass and capacity in maths. After maths we had English, where we looked at writing our CVs. We spoke about what needs to be included in our CVs and then started writing their CVs, everyone worked really hard to create their CV. In the afternoon, half of us did baking, we made rocky road to sell to our staff to raise money for our prom. The other half of us made a start on weeding the area outside our classroom.

On Wednesday morning the learners worked on their problem solving skills using 2 and 4 digit numbers. They had use their numbers and find the answers to various questions for example largest even number using 4 digits and largest multiple of 5 using 2 digits. The pupils were amazing and discussed their answers with their peers. After break the learners had a go at a practice English writing paper. They did amazingly well. All KS4 went to their options groups in the afternoon.  
 

On Thursday morning, we started with picture news. This weeks question was “is it ever too late to try something new”. This weeks story was about an 82 year old runner, who has shown that age hasn’t stopped her trying something new. She started running when she was 70! We then looked at reasons why people might do a marathon. After this we looked at different people who have tried new things at an older age, we looked at Grandma Liu, Wally Funk, Vera Wang and Colonel Harland David Sanders. Our task was to research different marathons held across the world today. In the afternoon we went to Tesco to buy all our things for breakfast butties tomorrow.

On Friday morning we made our breakfast butties for staff and Liv enjoyed her hydro session! A couple of us enjoyed going bowling on the rewards trip! This weeks star of the week is Olivia, for having a great week in class. Olivia completed all her maths work, worked extremely hard during picture news and had a great session at hydro. Well done Olivia for having such a positive week.
