On Thursday we had our trip to the farm! Once everyone was in school, we made sure we all had waterproofs and our lunches and then loaded onto the bus with 11A. By the time we got there, the rain was coming down but we didn't let that stop us! We met Steph, who would be taking us round, and she talked us through the day; first we would be heading on a walk and then after lunch we would get to meet some of the animals.

After sticking our wellies and walking boots on we went out for our walk! We first headed up a big hill that had some lovely views once we got the top. We then made our way down the other side and did a loop around the farm, walking past lots and lots of sheep before getting back to the barn. We then made some little seed holders out of newspaper to bring back to school. We also had time before lunch to head over to the chickens and give them a quick feed, which they were very happy about, even in the rain!

After lunch we met up with Farmer Dave who took us further into the barn to meet the cows! He explained that as long as we were nice and quiet that we would be able to feed them hay and give them a stroke. Some of the cows were more keen than others and some of us ended up with new friends. We then went back into the main barn and sat in a circle on some benches. We were given some feed and told that the goats were going to come out and to stay nice and still. The goats were very gentle and very cute! After this it was almost time to go, but we had just enough time to go see the pigs and sheep and take a little walk around the garden.

We had a lovely day out and want to say thank you to Steph and everyone at Cobble Hey Farm!
