We started the day with maths. This was our last maths lesson at Astley Park School! Then we did picture news. This weeks question was “is technology changing childhood?”We discussed technology and the impact it has on young people. The introduction of Lillypad shows how technology is changing the way children play, with screens becoming more popular than toys. We then spoke about messages in films. Our task was to calculate the number of hours we have on an evening between school and bedtime. We used different categories. These included screen time, active play, creative play and other time. We had to write a rough estimate of how many hours or minutes we spend on a normal evening. In the afternoon we decorated our own pencil cases.
On Tuesday morning we went bowling. We all teamed up and had a couple of games, this was good fun. After this, we had lunch . We had chips, chicken and pizza. This was followed by ice cream. We went back to school and had a nice chilled afternoon, socialising with our friends.
On Wednesday we went to Keepmoat and there was a company called Onward, they were doing a house refurb. They told us about different apprenticeships. This was really interesting to learn about the different opportunities available. In the afternoon, we had some time socialising with our friends.
On Thursday, it was PROM DAY. The learners all looked amazing, and we had an amazing time. We are so proud of 11A, and prom was a great opportunity to celebrate our learners!
