Macmillan Coffee Morning Cake Making

Last Wednesday, 10P decided to help by making cakes to donate to the Macmillan Coffee Morning.

We all went into the food technology room and, before we started, we washed our hands and put on aprons.

We followed Miss Townson’s step-by-step instructions. The first step was to find the equipment we needed. The learners looked around the food technology room to find bowls, spoons, cake trays, and cake cases.

Once all the equipment had been found, it was time to move on to the next step, which was breaking the chocolate into small pieces and placing it into a bowl.

When the chocolate had been placed in the bowl, the next step was to melt it in the microwave.

Next, it was time to mix the cornflakes and melted chocolate together. Everyone did an amazing job of taking turns and working together while completing this task.

The final instruction was to spoon the mixture into the cake cases.

Throughout this activity, all the learners used their listening skills and demonstrated one of our school values: teamwork. They worked cooperatively, followed instructions carefully, and supported one another to successfully complete this activity.

A few of us helped out on the stalls selling cakes to parents and visitors - a very important job for 10P!
