In our Maths learning, we have been focusing on sharing a given number.

We began our learning with an Attention Autism session where our learners watched Miss Townson double the painted spots on a paper ladybird before coming up to the front and sharing out a given number of beanbags between two hoops.

Our explorers split off to continue their problem solving skills with matching, sorting and counting activities after trying their hand at our Attention Autism session!

Our adventurers and adventurers challenge moved to the tables where learners were given a set number of cubes and progressed to completing the division number sentence.

Miss Townson also explained that it is not just numbers of blocks that can be shared, but other things like food, for example a pizza cut into equal slices.

Our learners enjoyed suggesting types of pizzas they would like to like to share and picking someone from the class to ‘share’ it with, counting how many slices each person would receive. They then completed the written part of their learning by writing out what half of the given number of slices is.
