World hearing day.
After a fabulous last week back into the school routine, 8P lead themselves into a busy week ahead.
On Tuesday it was Worlds Hearing Day at Astley Park School.
Firstly 8P watched a video on children that were hard of hearing. They told us how hard it can be when they are listening to things, like videos and people talking.
Then we all had a go at trying to lip read to each other. The learners were given a short sentence to mouth out. Some found this a little difficult but they all had a good go. No one could repeat what the others were saying.
Next 8P participated in a little game of Chinese whispers. The sentence at the start was “Thursday is world but day”, but after all the children had this whispered to them, it came out as “Going to London eye”!
We then did some amazing colouring of an ear.
We all decided that it must be hard for people who are hard of hearing and we will work hard together to help everyone.
