On Monday morning we began with maths, where we all worked hard in our different groups. After this, we had picture news, where we looked at the 2026 Paralympics which took place in Italy. We looked at what sports were involved and what adaptations were made to make it accessible for everyone. There was then the question “what makes someone a champion?” We discussed this in groups and said what we can do to be a champion. This weeks task was to research a Paralympian, we recorded the facts on a book creator document and fed back to class. In the afternoon, Lee came in to talk about jobs and the reasons why we work. We discussed several reasons for working, including learning new skills, to meet new people and to earn money.
On Tuesday morning, we continued feeding back our research on Paralympian's. After this, we logged onto careers pilot again and had a browse of the website, completing some personality quizzes that matched us to different careers.
On Wednesday morning we continued working in our groups, completing maths. Then we continued to design our Keepmoat housing developments. Then in the afternoon, we helped prepare for the colour run, he filled all the bottles up with different colours.
On Thursday morning we had our last swimming sessions, everyone has worked so hard during swimming this term. After this we went to Tesco to get our things for breakfast butties. This afternoon, we had our Astley Park School colour run! This was great fun.
On Friday morning we did our year 11 enterprise and made bacon, sausage and fish finger sandwiches for staff. After this we came back to class. In the afternoon, we had golden time, some of us watched a film and some of us got to play on the switch. Then we had celebration assembly, this weeks star of the week is Grace for completing her maths exams this week and showing confidence. Well done Grace!
