This week in 9A, we’ve been diving even deeper into our dinosaur topic. We explored how information is organised in fact files and even created our own. Using the iPads, we logged into Purple Mash to design our fact files, adding facts we’ve already learned and researching new ones online to make them even better.
In our Online Safety lesson, we focused on how our behaviour online can affect both ourselves and others. We discussed different scenarios and shared how each one might make people feel, helping us think more carefully about the choices we make on the internet.
Thursday afternoon’s Thrive session was all about worries — what they feel like and what we can do when they show up. Everyone made something to help them stay calm. Some of us created stress balls using balloons and flour (the classroom and our uniforms definitely showed the evidence afterwards), while others made calming bottles filled with oil, water, and glitter.
We’ve also taken advantage of the lovely sunshine this week by moving some of our lessons outdoors. During our forest school sessions, we explored the ‘dip’ — the wooded area on our school grounds. It’s been great to learn outside, and we’re excited to spend more time there in future sessions.
