This week Beech class have continued to explore mini beasts.
During continuous provision, we explored super worm, rescued bugs in ice, put spots on the ladybird and decorated the butterflies.
During adult led activities, we made snail shells using our fingerprints, snail sandwiches using Nutella, had play-dough fun and made ladybirds using apples.
On Tuesday some of us went on a real mini beast hunt. We transitioned well to the park, searched high and low and in the trees for bugs and used the communication boards to say what we could see. We had so much fun!
This week we also engaged in afternoon groups. We sustained attention well for a sensory story about bugs. We listened carefully, watched the toys and communicated well for more. We also started ‘sensology’. We listened to a song about our 5 senses, looked at our faces in the mirror and did amazing joining in. We used our eyes to look at the bugs, used our ears to listen to cricket sounds, used our hands to touch soil, our noses to smell mint and our tongues to eat worms (strawberry laces!).
Well done Beech.
