This week, 9A have taken part in a vibrant and action-packed Sports Week filled with energy, teamwork, and new experiences. We thoroughly enjoyed developing our batting and fielding skills through lively games of cricket and rounders, while sharpening our throwing and catching techniques. The sessions were full of encouragement and teamwork, helping everyone feel included and part of something special.
One of the highlights was balloon tennis, which tested our concentration, coordination, and balance. Keeping the balloon in the air while battling the unpredictable breeze made the activity even more exciting and full of laughter! 😀
We also immersed ourselves in African dancing, learning expressive and rhythmic movements from another culture. The music, movement, and enthusiasm made it a joyful and memorable experience. In addition, we stepped into the world of fencing, dressing in full outfits and confidently calling out “En garde!” as we practised our precision, control, and focus.
Our fabulous putting skills were put to the test on the mini golf course, where we carefully aimed and measured each shot with growing confidence. Alongside this, we explored the history of the World Cup, sparking curiosity and discussion, and even created our own class sweepstake by drawing teams from a pot, adding a sense of excitement and friendly competition.
To release some extra energy, we tackled a thrilling mini bouncy castle assault course, full of bouncing, climbing, and laughter. The week culminated in a fantastic school sports day, packed with fun and varied activities such as egg and spoon races, splatting Mr Welsh with a wet sponge, passing a hula hoop around the circle without letting go, bowling challenges, throwing and catching games, and penalty shootouts — all rounded off with exhilarating relay races.
What an incredibly busy, exciting, and unforgettable week it has been for 9A!
