To celebrate LGBT History month and to learn more about why we celebrated ‘Rainbow Day’ today, yesterday Oak Class watched Miss Cross make different pictures, decorated with different colours and patterns chosen by Oak Class. We looked at how the different colours look much nicer together than on there own. Oak Class then took turns to sprinkle rainbow glitter on their favourite picture. Chris said he liked the green on his favourite painting. Daniel said he liked the bright painting. Ethan said he like them all because they were colourful and cool. We used this to talk about how we are all different like the colours and it is important we are kind and all play together. Today, we had lots of fun celebrating Rainbow Day making our own rainbow bubble pictures choosing and mixing our favourite colours. We then decorated cupcakes with blue icing and lots of colourful sprinkles. After we had a ‘Colour Fiesta’ with Dora the Explorer, with dancing and games. We even got to wear our party masks we made earlier this week. Oak Class showed their cool dance moves and loved dancing with Dora! We use this time to talk about why it is important to include everybody in our games no matter how different we are.
