Physical Development and Healthy Lifestyles
Physical Development and Healthy Lifestyle aims to develop learners’ strength, balance, co-ordination, technique and flexibility enabling them to excel across a wide range of physical, leisure and recreational activities. Learners are taught to respect and care for their bodies through healthy eating, physical activity, personal care and well-being. Learners are taught how to keep safe in both physical and online environments and have a growing understanding of how to maintain positive mental health and well-being. Learners develop a range of strategies to manage their bodies’ physical, sensory and behavioural needs including sensory and emotional regulation. Physical Development and Healthy Lifestyles helps learners to form self-awareness and a sense of identity.
