Hi everybody,
I was on holiday last week but Miss Beck has been telling me about the fantastic work you all did at home and I am so proud of you all for trying so hard! Last week I set you some reading about dinosaurs and tasks which involved reflecting on what you had read to answer questions. One of the questions was, “How would you feel if dinosaurs were alive today?” I think I would feel pretty scared!
To keep practicing your number skills, you continued to work on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division through Purple Mash and Education City games. You all worked so hard. A special well done to Jenny and Kristen for scoring 100% on the education city 2 times table game! Great job! Tyler did some super ice cream addition at home which looked lots of fun!
I also asked you to help with jobs around the house and lots of you have done some cooking. Yum yum! I hope we get to sample some of the recipes you have mastered on our return to school!
Our star of the week Sophie was a super helper to a key worker last week. Her Dads friend owns a farm and needed some help mending a fence to keep the cattle safe. Sophie helped hammer nails in to fix the fence, helped cut back overgrown hedges from the gates and helped move the old posts away. As a reward the farmer let Sophie drive his tractor back home across the fields. What an amazing experience! Well done Sophie!
To relax I can see that some of you have been out getting some fresh air on your bikes or going for walks. I saw Chloe on one of my walks last week, she was riding a scooter! Exercise is a great way to help keep those engines just right! Some of you have been making fantastic creations with Lego, colouring flags for the MADD week competition (well done for entering Jenny and Tyler - good luck!) and Emily spent some time looking for bats in the night sky and sent in a photo. Jenny watched the musical Annie and loved it so much that she bought the album. Annie is one of my favourites too! Lets sing along to some of the songs when we are back at school!
Take a look at the photos below and keep sending in your work and fun activities. We love seeing them!
This week I want you to pretend you have gone back to the time when dinosaurs lived and write a postcard or letter to somebody in 2020, explaining what is happening and how you feel. I also want you to practice your money skills and think about the importance of recycling. Remember, most of you have mums and dads workin from home so try to be as independent as possible. I have sent you some timetables to help you manage your time.
Keep up the good work 7R and stay safe! We miss you!
Mrs Crouch
