This week 11R have been busy with lots of new things including visiting Preston College twice and beginning our new ASDAN module, Environmental awareness.
We thought about what environments are and how they link to our local community before thinking about how we could improve our school community environment. The school polytunnel has been neglected since summer so the learners decided that we could clear out all the dead plants and weeds in readiness for new planting next spring. They all worked really hard digging and moving the debris; we even talked about some of the insects that we found being part of the habitats within the polytunnel.
We also visited Preston College where students took part in a dance class in the dance studio and took part in a stop motion photography session within the creative arts building. Next week we will visit the construction pathway building.
We have been looking at Black History Month this week, in particular, Marcus Rashford. We read some articles about him and found out lots of facts about his childhood and the open letter that he sent to parliament regarding school meal vouchers.
Next week is all about Halloween!!!!
