Day one at Bendrigg

Day one at Bendrigg.

Wednesday morning, the learners came in very very excited. We tried to keep it as normal as possible. We had lots of visitors coming in , wishes us all a good time. Mr Welsh even came onto our coach and gave us all a high five.

They were amazing in the coach and we didn’t hear “ are we nearly there yet” by the learners. ( only by one member of staff, Miss Robertson).

When we arrived we headed to the lounge to meet the Bendrigg staff and to find out where our bedrooms were. Then we headed off to our bedrooms to make the beds…..That’s right, we all made our own beds!

After we headed to the dining room we collected own our dinners and even cleaned up after ourselves.

After dinner, we got into groups. There was group 1, 2 and 3. 7 P were put between group 2 and 3.

Group 2’s first activity was indoor caving. We tried it first with the lights on and then we were all very brave and they turned the lights off! We all enjoyed crawling, sliding and climbing through the caves.

We then had a break and then it was time for the big swing!

We made our way to the hall where the swing was. We all took turns and sat patiently.

When on the swing we were safely fastened in and we started to swing. It started slow and low but got higher and faster. We even got a second go!

Group 3’s first activity was to go on the bikes. There was a great variety of bikes to go on which included 3 wheeler trikes, electric bikes, 2 wheeler bikes and a drift trike. We all had a super time cycling round the track and got to have a turn on lots of them. We had so much fun. We then had a brilliant adventure crawling through the indoor cave (we did keep the lights on to help us see). Wow what fun we had. We loved going through the range of different tunnels, slides and different rooms. Great job 7P!

After we unpacked and had a little rest it was tea time. Pizza and chips! And there was one or two of them who went up for seconds! Then a banana and ice cream. It was yummy.

Then after our tea settled, we had a little walk to the sensory park. There was swing, a wide balance board, roundabouts and a slide. After that we were able to then go on the giant snake slide. We went down super fast, it was amazing!

After that it was time for a shower and bed. Wow 7P you did such a good job,
