This week we have been learning about Eid due to the festival being celebrated at the end of this week.
In Attention Autism we have been sustaining our attention whilst learning all about the festival Eid.
Stage 1 we watched Mrs Gregory show us the box of Eid related resources, firstly she showed us a prayer mat, then Quran on the book stand and an item of clothing.
Stage 2 is moon and star - flour and glitter shake, x2 templates of a crescent moon and a star was laid out in the tray and flour and glitter were shaken over the templates to make the shapes when they were lifted up out of the tray.
Stage 3 is sharing dates - we tasted dates in class and listened to some music in the background. Some of the pupils liked the taste of the dates and wanted more and some pupils did not like them.
Stage 4 for the explorers they sat at the table and explored the box of resources relating to Islam and the festival of Eid and for the adventurers they explored the box of resources and them created their own artwork using star sequins of a crescent moon and star.
We have extended this learning further through continuous provision within the classroom environment.
