This week in Food Technology, 7P had lots of fun making cheese and onion pasties. First, everyone helped to heat the oven to 200°C and cut the pastry into squares. Then we added cheese and onion to the middle and folded the pastry over to make a triangle shape. We folded the pastry over and pressed it with our fingers so the filling stayed inside, and brushed the tops with egg to make them turn golden in the oven. The pasties were baked for 20–25 minutes and smelled amazing while they cooked! After letting them cool down a little, we got to taste them. They were crispy on the outside and warm and cheesy on the inside. We all did a great job and learned new cooking skills while having fun together!
