On Thursday 10A, along with out friends in 10P, took a trip to Wood End Farm near Clitheroe. After a long drive, made even longer by road closures due to resurfacing works, during which we were all very patient we made it to the farm and quickly got to know the people showing us around the farm.

First we visited the incredibly energetic Pygmy Goats which we were able to feed carrot slices if we wanted to, and then we went and met some pigs who were very affectionate! We brushed the pigs, and must have done a good job of making them feel relaxed as both pigs fell asleep. Next we headed round to see some farm equipment, as well as having a chance to get a feel for what it is like to milk cows. There were also sheep and lambs, with some of the lambs only being a couple of months old.

After lunch we went and met the Alpacas before taking them for a walk around the farm, we listened well to the instructions we had been given to drop the Alpaca’s leads if they started to run though unfortunately there were a number of horseflies which followed the Alpacas around.

With our time at the farm coming to an end we said thank you to the staff that work there, and made our way back to school.
