This week is World Religion Week and Oak Class have been learning about the religion ‘Islam’. We started the week off with the story ‘The Prophet and the Ants’ which showed us that Muslims care for animals because they are all important. We really enjoyed saying the animals we like and how we can care for them. Tig likes his pet dog and cares for it by taking it for a walk at the park! On Wednesday, Miss Cross introduced us to some Islamic symbols in our Attention Autism and today we had our own ‘Mosque Experience’ in class, learning some of the Islamic traditions. We walked to the ‘Mosque’ and took our shoes off before walking inside. We then washed our hands and looked at lots of different artefacts. We even decorated our own prayer mats to take home!
