Chestnut Celebrating Chinese New Year
This week Chestnut Class have been learning about the Chinese New Year. We made our red packets to put our lucky coins in and a puppet Chinese dragon, which we used to perform our dragon dance to. We finished the week with a celebration party with Beech Class tasting lots of different chinese food.
Chestnut exploring Williamson Park
Today Chestnut Class visited Williamson Park. We looked at all the wonderful woodland walks and beautiful buildings. We could even see the sea from the play area. We talked about what we could see and find in the pirate play park. There were lots of squirrels climbing the trees and dogs exploring the gardens.

Here comes the Gruffalo!
Oak Class read the story of the Gruffalo in Class for our topic. We then made Gruffalo cakes, we described what the Gruffalo looked like- Orange eyes, Purple spikes on his back and a green wart upon his nose. Some of us made the Gruffalo look the same, but some of us wanted to make our own Gruffalo.
