We’re Going on a Gruffalo Hunt!

For the next three weeks in English, Oak class will be looking at ‘Stories by the Same Author’. We have chosen the author Julia Donaldson! To start off our topic we have had a fun-filled day looking at the Gruffalo! First Miss Cross read the story ‘The Gruffalo’. Ethan’s favourite character was the owl and Amelia really liked the snake! Ambar and Tig enjoyed feeling the stones and Reece enjoyed watching and listening to the water. We even made some Gruffalo Crumble - yummy! This afternoon we went on a ‘Gruffalo Hunt’ outside! We wrapped up in our coats and headed to the bike track. We used our magnifying glasses to help us find the different characters that were hiding. Ellie enjoyed naming all the characters she found, her favourite was the Gruffalo and Teddy’s was the Fox! Owen, Daniel, Ollie and Chris loved using the magnifying glasses. We found 4 gruffalos, 3 foxes, 4 mice, 4 owls and 4 snakes. We can not wait to read more of Julia Donaldson’s stories in English!
