Hi Everyone!

I hope that this blog finds you all safe and well!

I just want to start the blog by saying how proud I am of all your achievements at home, and for trying so hard in this tricky situation.

I also want to give a special shout out to Joshua, who has been practising some life skills. Joshua has been regularly making his own beans on toast and making his own toast in the morning using visual aids to support him. Well done Joshua; I will be sending a Special Mention out via email today!

What have our learners been up to this week?

Harry

Harry has taken part in a nature walk this week. This was one of the activities on the school YouTube Channel. Harry really enjoyed being out and about and was keen to find different items. Harry has also spent some time video calling his Nan, playing a game with her as it was her birthday! He has learnt to email via the Purple Mash 2Email app. Harry emailed me and some of his friends! Well done!

Eshan

Eshan has tried really hard with his work this week. He has been working on Education City, Purple Mash and Cool Maths! Eshan has tried really hard with his reading this week, even when he has found it tough. He took a break and then did some reading with his big brother which is great! Eshan helped his big brother make cakes, he measured the sugar and flour and put the cakes cases in the tin. As well as this, Eshan and his brother have been playing outside in the sun!

Jacob

Jacob has been working really hard! Jacob has been going on some walks with his Grandad's dog, Louis. Jacob has been helping around the house doing jobs such as the washing, feeding the cats and watering the plants. He has been super busy making some Harry Potter themed craft from scratch which is amazing! He made his own wand and some potion bottles too! Jacob has been enjoying playing with water beads and kinetic sand as well, sometimes squeezing them to relax when he is watching a film! Awesome!

Clayton

Clayton has been on a lovely sensory walk with his Nan. He really liked the splashing sounds of stones in the water and the snapping of twigs. Clayton has also been into town and practised social distancing in the shops! What a superstar!

Reece

Reece has spent lots of time on his trampoline outside! Look how high he is bouncing! He has also been working really hard on tracing and overwriting and recognising Numicon shapes! Well done!

Joshua

Joshua has had another very busy week! He has been doing lots of reading, following instructions and number work. Joshua took part in the sensory diet activity outside, squeezing his feet and legs. Joshua went on a lovely sunny walk with Mum and Colin. On top of all this, Joshua very kindly made a thank you teacher poster, which I have to say made me shed a little tear! Thank you so much Joshua!

Tyler

I can see that Tyler has been super busy having a go at his work set on Education City! You are trying so hard, keep it up!

What have the teachers been up to this week?

Miss Hendy

I have had a very busy week working from home. I have been keeping up with what you have been up to. As it has been Mental Health Awareness week, I have gone on a few walks, carried on with my painting project and found some time to have a read of my new book. I have made lots of phone calls to friends and family to check on them, all whilst having some very big cups of coffee!

Miss McPartlin

Miss McPartlin has been working hard at home so that she can have a nice relaxing week with her husband and daughter next week! Miss McPartlin and I have had a video call this week so I could tell her about all your fabulous work! She is very proud of you all!

Mrs Webb

Mrs Webb has been busy in school this week with the learners there. She has been celebrating Mental Health Awareness week with the children. It is also Miss Bibby's birthday today, so Mrs Webb is busy celebrating it today! Happy Birthday Miss Bibby!

Mrs Mahood

Mrs Mahood has also been in school, busy helping in Oak Club! She has been watering lots of plants and doing some baking with the children. Mrs Mahood is looking forward to the weekend to relax with her family.
