Another super week for 11G ,learning lots and also taking part in lots of fun activities.
We have done lots of maths work, concentrating on number work and also looking at time and how it affects our daily lives. During these lessons we spent time looking at interactive clocks and using them to enhance our learning.
Book creator has been used a lot as well this week as we searched for different facts and pictures to build up our very own animal encyclopaedia. We are now looking at sea creatures and have already found out lots of interesting facts.
Mrs Powell did a fabulous and very interesting Attention Autism session to fall in with the work that we are going to be doing in our poly tunnel, planting seeds and bulbs.
Firstly Mrs Powell placed paper cut out flowers onto a sheet which was laid down to protect the carpet. She then put a piece of kitchen towel over each flower and placed a flower bulb on the top of each one before using the watering can to water them which in turn made the paper flowers visible.
Mrs Powell then showed us how to plant a bulb using a pot and compost and after she had finished we all talked about what plants need to stay alive and grow...water, air and light.
James and Georgia then had a go at planting their own bulbs and they were placed on a table near a window where they will hopefully grow into flowers.
Finally we created our own very beautiful flowers using lots of brightly coloured paints and just our fingers..these turned out really well and looked extremely pretty once finished.
World book day was celebrated on Thursday and it was great to see a lot of pupils dressed up as various characters from books as well as those pupils who chose to come in their own clothes.
We enjoyed taking part in a class video call with some of our class mates where we read a book called Commotion in the Ocean and after lunch we took part in a parade during a Teams call with the rest of the school.
So, a very busy and fun week for us all. Take care Ms Lea. X
