Wow what a fantastic day we have had!!
At the beginning of the day Mr Welsh held a whole school teams video call and showed everyone CCTV footage from last night. A mysterious visitor had been creeping around the secondary classrooms looking in cupboards and drawers. Who could this sneaky chappy be? Mr Welsh tasked all the learners to find out who it was and what he could be looking for.
The story that we looked at across the whole school was Three Little Pigs. Our explorer and adventurer children focused on the story of the Three Little Pigs by Nick Sharratt, while our upper adventurers and voyager children looked at The True Story of the Three Little Pigs by John Scieszka which tells the story same story but from the wolf's point of view. Learners took part in lots of different activities in class and around school. In the sensory room, classes were treated to an Attention Autism session or a Sensory Story based on the tale. Voyagers practiced their baking skills in our own Piggy Bake Off Competition. Well Done 9R in winning first prize for their own Piggy Houses - made out of home made bread! We saw some fantastic activities in class, including a court room drama where the wolf was judged and the writing newspaper articles to headline the fate of the piggies! Was the wolf innocent - that was the question?..
In the hall classes spent time on a bouncy castle house and played with Jenga bricks to see how strong a brick house can really be. At the end of the day there was a whole school costume parade. All of the students had the opportunity to showcase their fantastic costumes. We also had a visit from or overnight visitor - THE BIG BAD WOLF - aka Mr Alexander Wolf.
Well done and thankyou to all the staff on a fantastic 25th anniversary of world book day. There were some fantastic staff costumes to be seen all around school. An extra special thankyou to Mrs Mahood for her fantastic sessions in the sensory room.
Most classes have already blogged with their own class photos but attached are some more...
