The morning started off with getting our kit for Ghyll scrambling. We listened to the instructions from Jane about which stones to stand on and that it was safer to walk in the water as the green stones were very slippery. We started up the stream and quickly realised it was harder than we thought. We decided the best plan was to help each other out over the really tricky parts. As you can see from the photos we did amazing team work and really helped each other out.
Partway up the stream there was a tunnel. We were given a choice whether to go through it or not. It was very narrow with water flowing through it and was uphill so you had to pull yourself through whilst lying down. We were amazed with how many wanted to challenge themselves and undertake this obstacle and also the encouragement from others that felt it was a step too far. We encountered trickier obstacles further up the stream and once again the teamwork spontaneously displayed by all was so lovely to see. Amazing job by everyone.
After dinner at Calvert and a game of Duck, Duck, Goose we walked up to the High Ropes and put on our safety gear. Everyone completed the ropes course successfully. Daniel, Ben, Faith, Nicola and Harrison completed the extra high ropes independently as did Miss Potter and Miss Linde - Miss Linde's legs were shaking a little. Everyone tried really hard and completed the majority of the course independently. Super work guys!
Next came the zipwire - Most learners undertook the zipwire and those that didn't cheered their friends on.
We had a super time during both activities.
