Wow!!! What a fantastic World Book Day we have all had!!
We celebrated World Book Day this year thinking about Movement in literature. For our Adventurers and Explorers, we had fabulous dance workshops. Those in Primary explored Handa's Surprise and in secondary, Charlie and the Chocolate factory. The sessions were delivered by Toni from #Dancedays.
Our explorers enjoy a fantastic session in the sensory room where they were able to explore lots of different fruits by touch, taste, feel and smell. Handa's Surprise story was playing on the interactive floor of the sensory room during these sessions that were delivered by our very own Mrs Brereton.
Classes also took part in many other World Book Day activities including reading the story or parts of the story and exploring the text via art. Some classes watched clips form the films of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to compare how they were made. Children designed their own chocolate bars and added magic ingredients. Some classess visited Ebb and Flo Book Shop in Chorley to use their book tokens to get their own book too.
It was also brilliant to see so many children dressing up as their favourite characters. The whole day ended with a fabulous class parade.
Well done everyone.
