Day 3, time for canoes! It was our second expedition day today which meant it was our turn to do the canoeing.
We had a good breakfast of pancakes to get us ready and energised before heading over to the store rooms to collect the life jackets we would be wearing. We then hopped on the mini bus and headed over to Windermere.
After getting off the bus we all worked as a team to carry the canoes to the shoreline and helped strap the canoes together to create rafts, meaning it would be easier to stay together and help each other row. It was then time to launch! We all got in our canoes and headed off into the lake. We rowed across the lake and around to Belle Isle, where we stopped to eat lunch and have a little explore of the island.
After lunch it was time to jump back into the boats and carry on rowing. We continued on up the lake for a bit before turning to head back. We sailed between Bird Poo Island and down along the shores of Bowness.
When we got back to shore we separated the boats and once again worked as a team to move and load everything back onto the trailer so we could head back to site. It was nearly time for tea when we got back so we just had time for some quick showers.
For tea tonight it was pizza and chips, which everyone said was their favourite tea! After tea everyone was knackered so we headed over to the Acorns lounge where we watched Sing. It was then time for bed which everyone was very pleased about. It’s been a brilliant day and everyone has done so well! One day to go!
