On Monday we went back to the Anderton Centre, in the morning we did archery and we played a wipe out game which was lots of fun. In the afternoon, we went sailing and some of us went on a canoe. This was great fun and we can’t wait to visit again next week.
On Tuesday we did maths, we looked at number bonds, we all worked really hard. Then we did picture news, this weeks topic was zoos. Rules for zoos in Great Britain have been updated and there will be some changes. We looked at zoos and discussed what animals need to be happy and healthy in the zoo and discussed the new rules. We looked at all the different job roles in the zoo, from zoo keeper, education officers to cleaners and maintenance workers, and we discussed what skills and qualities they need to work at a zoo. Our task was to create an enclosure for our favourite animal, we had to think about what animal we had chosen and how to make it adaptable to that animal. In the afternoon we learnt about pride, we learnt about what it was and what LGBTQ+ stands for. Each class in the school has been given a colour of the rainbow, our classes colour is purple, so we coloured and designed some purple love hearts.
On Wednesday morning we went swimming. We all did amazing, practicing floating on our back and then front crawl and back crawl. We all had a go at jumping in off the side aswell.
In the afternoon some of us went shopping for the ingredients for our bacon butty enterprise.
Thursday was our class visit to Woodend farm. We met Humphrey and Hector the Kune Kune pigs, Tommy the pony and Princess and Polly the sheep. We spent our afternoon meeting and then walking Alfie, Paddington and Felix the Alpacas. We all had a fantastic time.
Friday we made staff bacon and sausage barms for our enterprise project. It all ran as smoothly as could be and we all gave ourselves a massive pat on the back. In the afternoon we enjoyed our golden time, watching a film, playing games and pampering ourselves.
This weeks star of the week is Aaron for his amazing quality control skills during our enterprise and for braving the jump into the swimming pool during swimming this week. Well done Aaron
