In our KS4 options lesson this week, 10P had a visit from Mrs Powell who taught us all about the Pendle Witches in a History lesson. We learned about Alison Device who was the last witch to be tried by a jury many years ago. We found out that was just a lady who wanted to help sick people but unfortunately some people did not like her because of what she did and decided she was a witch. We smelled the lavender and rosemary which Alison would have used and looked at candles and special stones that have special powers.
We then took part of some lovely activities taking turns to take part in each one. There was potion making where we made special potions in bottles choosing different colours to mix with oils, dressing up and making lavender bags and making a Pendle Hill scene.
