10G get spooky

9G’s Halloween

Maple Class get Spooky!

This week Maple Class have been getting spooky, ready for Halloween.  All week we have been using a cauldron instead of a bucket in our attention autism. On Tuesday Miss Troughton did a spooky attention autism by cutting out a ghost shape from black card and then sticking cotton wool and 2 eyes on to it. We all then took turns to make our own!  On Wednesday Miss Howarth pulled a dancing skeleton and a centipede out of the bucket. Some of us had a feel of the centipede but some of us got a bit scared, even hiding behind a chair!  For stage two Miss Howarth made scary faces with balloons that magically blew up to reveal the different faces. Next a few of us were made into mummies, wrapped in toilet roll!  For our activities we had a Ghouling Alley in class, we loved bowling the pumpkin into the spooky ghosts!  We also had lots of black silly string to explore. Some of us went with Miss Woods to the pumpkin patch at the front of school to choose our favourite pumpkin. We counted 5 pumpkins to choose from. We then took it in turns to remove all the pumpkin seeds and with help from Miss Howarth we carved our very own pumpkin choosing different shapes.  It was time to dress up on Thursday, we had skeletons, Frankenstein, Pumpkins and lots of other spooky characters in class. For our attention autism, Miss Howarth pulled out a special torch from her cauldron. We could see bats, pumpkins and ghosts when she shined it. She then made a giant cobweb and paper skeletons dance on the floor.  For our spooky activities on Thursday we took part in apple bobbing outside with Miss Eccles, we also made lots of magic potions with Mrs Worthington using googly eyes and lots of colours and bubbles.  In the afternoon we did a Halloween sensory story and all got involved making different noises we would hear in a haunted house!  Our star of the week this week is Austin for using his new communication methods and expressing himself brilliantly with his talking.  Hope you all have a super break and a Happy Halloween!
