Hello Everyone

As we approach the end of the first term, I do so with a great deal of pride as we reflect on the many achievements this term.

We have welcomed new staff and pupils to the school, and I am incredibly proud of how well they have settled in and the positive impact they have had already.

It has been a very busy second-half of the term with lots of exciting things happening including the arrival of our new minibus, kindly supported by Variety Club and sponsored by Network Space.

This term also saw four more staff complete their Level 3 Forest School Leader award, congratulations to Mrs James, Mrs Matthew, Miss Hothersall and Mrs Tolan, they join Mr Poxon and Mr Massey as our forest school leaders. A big thank you to Adactus Housing who generously supported us by part covering the cost of their training.

We have also been awarded the Lancashire Healthy Schools Standard. Mrs Crouch and Mr Murphy worked hard gathering together and submitting our evidence portfolio. We then had a visit from a member of the Healthy School adviser team. They were incredibly impressed with the work of the school and awarded us the standard.

We have had a range of amazing Christmas Events, starting with our Christmas Bingo raising a fantastic £750. Next was our Christmas Lunch, huge thanks to our catering manager Carol and her catering assistants Olive and Adele who did a great job cooking us a delicious lunch and our amazing team of staff helpers.

Our Christmas performances were a huge success, all the pupils did amazingly well and achieved such a great deal, which would not have been possible without the first class support they receive form our awesome staff team. Primary performance was organised & led by Miss Curry, Miss Cross and Miss Hothersall and Secondary by Miss Robertson & Miss Holden.  I would also like to thank Dot and Paul who very kindly offered to serve refreshments at each of our Christmas performances.

Today we have our Breakfast with Santa and Christmas Parties, remember to look out for the photos from all our amazing events on the school website and Facebook page.

Our Christmas raffle has raised over £500, that alongside the sales from tickets for the Christmas performances and refreshments which raised £350, all makes for a fantastic fundraising effort. Thank you all so much for all your support with our fundraising this term. Your kindness and generosity are much appreciated.

We have four vacancies on our Governing Body we will be running an election early in the new year. Prior to the election I will be hosting a Meet the Governors coffee morning on Monday 13th January 2020 at 10am, please do come along and find out more, the role of the governors is vital to the success of the school.

I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you all the very best for the festive season and I’ll look forward to seeing you all in the New Year.

Mr Welsh
