Welcome Back
I hope you all enjoyed the festive break and that the new year is going well for you all so far.
The children have all settled back into school and have all enjoyed seeing their friends and sharing their stories from the holiday.
As we start a new year, I’d like to share with you our Fundraising Goals for the year ahead.
Our Fundraising Goals in 2020

Covered outdoor learning & play areas for Chestnut, Maple and Oak Class.

Playground Equipment – swing, climbing frame & trim trail.

Accessible pathway to our outdoor learning areas & purchase of outdoor clothing & footwear for pupils and staff.

Y7 & Y10 annual 5-day residential activity holiday to Calvert Trust in Keswick, Lake District.
We ended the year on a high, following the amazing Christmas Bingo, Raffle and Christmas show ticket sales we raised a staggering £1,625. Thank you all so much for your kindness and generosity.
We have started the new year with some exciting fundraising news, we have received £5,000 from the Alan Halsall Foundation, £3,000 from the Bailey Thomas Charity and £3,000 from the Daniell Trust. We had a meeting with representatives from the Wooden Spoon Charity and we are through to the final stage of the process and should hear back in April.
If you or you know of anyone who can help and support our fundraising efforts or if you or they would like to join our Friends Astley Park School (FAPS) board of trustees or volunteer to help at one of our events, please get in touch.
Governors
We have welcomed four new Governors to the team, two parent governors Mrs Cathryn Antwis and Mrs Hayley Monk and two co-opted governors Mr Warren Bullough Mrs Heather McCann, who are also parents of pupils at school. They are bringing a wide range of skills and experience and are going to make a fantastic addition to the team We are currently updating our Meet the Governor booklet and will share a copy with you all once completed.
Weather
We have recently updated our weather plan please see link below which outlines the arrangements if the snow does arrive.
