We missed History Day while we were at Calvert Trust, so we decided to hold our own History Day in class today. The topic was the Ancient Romans. Students started off looking at where Rome is on the world map. We then looked at different styles of dress for different Ancient Roman people e.g soldiers and citizens and students had the chance to dress in togas. We then had a rich Roman Dinner party. Students pretended to lie on sloping couches and eat food that included, grapes, bread, fruit, cheese, honey, apple juice, and mice (chocolate variety!!!) We listened to some Ancient Roman music and staff role played being Roman slaves serving the rich members of the household.
