Hi everyone, thank you for looking at our weekly blog today!

Just want to start by saying a massive THANK YOU to you all for sharing photos and videos of what you have been up to this last week. I can’t write my blog without this information from you so please continue to keep in touch. It is really lovely to see how happy everyone is at home.

Ben has been very busy this week! He has been working hard on his number work, removing objects from a set and counting the objects very carefully, as well as lots of practice with matching the Numicon shapes to their numbers. Mum sent me a video of Ben putting his counting skills to good use and counting his planes. Ben has been enjoying following Joe Wicks PE sessions every morning with his sister, and has been out in the fresh air looking for animals too. He is also doing super work on Education City. Big thumbs up, Ben!

Charlie has also been busy this week. He has been working really hard with his sight reading, practicing reading the words and writing them too. Dad sent me a video of Charlie demonstrating his brilliant over-writing skills, I was very impressed. Charlie has been improving his self-help and independence skills by helping to sort the washing out before it goes into the washing machine, then pegging it out afterwards AND he has been helping to make his own sandwiches for his lunch! Charlie has also been enjoying Education City this week too. Charlie decided to paint his piggy bank that Father Christmas brought for him when he came into school to see us and wants to give it to his Grandma next time he gets to see her. What a lovely idea, Charlie!

Someone else who has been extra busy this week is Daisy! Daisy and Mum have been watching the videos that have been posted on our YouTube channel and have been trying the activities out at home. Daisy loved the Tiger Who Came to Tea. She pinched the biscuits back from the tiger (custard creams, Daisy’s favourite), then poured the tea and added milk and gave it a stir. She also got the Tiger to sing Wind the Bobbin up with her too! Daisy has been learning more about animals and their babies and Mum has linked this to The Very Hungry Caterpillar book, which Daisy has enjoyed reading this week. Finally, Daisy has also had a WOW moment this week and has been recognising numbers over 10, both in numeral form and the Numicon shapes too! Brilliant learning, Daisy!

Francesca has had a bit of a cold this week but hasn’t let it stop her from doing some great work at home with Mum. She has been doing lots of reading and playing games too. Francesca has also been playing games on Education City but found one activity especially tricky. Mum tells me that, instead of giving up and saying she couldn’t do it, Francesca persevered and kept trying and trying until she completed the game! That is excellent news, Francesca!

Jake has been helping Mum at home by unloading the dishwasher (very helpful!). He has also been working on adding using the Numicon shapes again, this time with numbers up to 20. Mum sent me a video of Jake doing some add sums and working through the process to find the correct answer. Great work, Jake!

Nicola is continuing to make good choices at home. Mum sent me a video of Nicola being a superstar and tidying her room when Mum had asked her too. She’s also been practicing logging on to Education City this week and has been doing tricky work that Mum and Dad have set for her. Well done, Nicola!

Another busy bee in 8G this week is Rose. Rose has been colouring beautiful rainbow pictures to stick in her window, so that people can spot them when they are on their daily walk. What a lovely idea! Rose was very excited to try out some new paint sticks that Mum had bought and chose to draw a beautiful picture of a pig. Mum sent me a video of Rose doing some adding using the Numicon shapes, and she has also been working on finding one more and one less. Rose has been working hard on Education City and has been enjoying the activities on there too. Keep up the good work, Rose!

Skye has been continuing to practice her cooking skills at home this week. She has made cottage pie and pizzas, which all look delicious! Mum sent me a video of Skye stood outside her house on Thursday night, clapping to show support for the NHS workers who are working to keep us all safe. Mum says she is really impressed with Skye’s behaviour at home, and that Skye has even mastered how to take her meds without her cup or yogurt. Excellent work, Skye!

Thomas is happy at home. This week he has started to do some work with Mum. He has been practicing his numbers and has been making an Easter chick picture. Thomas has been enjoying playing on his trampoline in the garden, along with his giant teddy bear. Keep up the good work, Thomas!

Our Star of the Week this week is

Skye!

As I mentioned above, Skye’s behaviour at home as been excellent and she has mastered how to take her meds herself, without needing her special cup or yogurt. Super work, Skye!

Don't forget, if you would like to see the Star of the Week assembly for this week you can watch it on our YouTube channel.

I am “on holiday” for the next two weeks so I won’t be publishing a weekly blog during this time. Please continue to email me with what you have all been doing and I will write a new blog on my return to work on 20th April.

Hope you all enjoy your Easter break!
