Hi everybody,

A belated Happy Easter to you all. It looks like you’ve all had lots of fun while staying safe at home and I’m so proud of you all for how well you are coping with a very difficult time.

As a bit of fun, I set you all an Easter craft competition task for the holidays and the entries have been wonderful. From Easter baskets, Purple Mash art, to fun with glitter and Easter baking, all the entries were fantastic and it was really hard to choose a winner. A huge well done to the winner JENNY who created Easter cards and a basket! Well done. We will give you a prize from the prize box as soon as we are back at school. Can anybody think of any other competitions we could have? Comment below if you have an idea for us!

In other news, lots of you have been baking, eating delicious eggs, enjoying the sunshine, having fun and working outside. So many of you have been working hard completing Purple Mash home learning activities. Well done and keep up the good work! Lots of you received Easter treats and you have all enjoyed spending time with your families. I’m so pleased that you have created some happy memories this holidays! Keep smiling!

You might be wondering what the teachers have been up to while we have been at home:

Mrs Crouch: I have been working from home throughout the holidays but have tried to enjoy the sunshine as much as I can. I took part in the “run for heroes” challenging and ran 5k and donated £5 to the run for heroes charity after receiving nominations to complete the challenge from some of my friends. Have any of you had a go at the challenge? I have also been inspired by your baking and have made some Easter creme egg brownies and carrot cake cupcakes. They were very yummy and didn’t last long! I’ve been trying to have a break from my screen regularly so that “brain eater” doesn’t invade my thinking brain so I bought a 1000 piece Disney jigsaw which I have started but it’s very tricky! I also finally finished all the Marvel films which I started when we did our superhero topic in the Autumn term! They are fantastic! I can’t decide on a favourite. Have any of you got a favourite Marvel film? What have you been doing at home to avoid “brain eater” invading your thinking brain?

Miss Beck: I have been on holiday for Easter. I haven’t done much but me and my family have been on some walks, played lots of mario kart, made cakes, played quizzes with friends online, watched superhero films, made Lego models and played with kinetic sand. I am really missing everybody. Have any of you made anything nice with Lego?

Miss O’Connell: Me and my son, James, have been speaking to family and friends regularly. James has been playing in our garden and talking to friends in their gardens, building dens using outdoor materials. We had an Easter egg hunt which was lots of fun. We have enjoyed a BBQ and we are enjoying taking our daily exercise with walks in the woods where the bluebells are starting to come out. I got stuck up a hill and almost fell in a stream! We have been reading lots of books too. What have you all been reading at home?

Well done to everybody for staying safe. If you would like to reply to us, comment below!

Next week we will be starting our new topic, dinosaurs, at home. I have set you all a task to create a fact file about dinosaurs. Please send photos of your work so we can share all the different fact files on next weeks blogs and you can learn from your friends!

Keep smiling, stay safe and enjoy the sunshine!
