Happy Friday! Thank you again to everyone who joined our video call today. I hope you all enjoyed getting to know Miss Hendy a little bit more. And wasn’t it nice to see Miss McPartlin too? I know some of you will be feeling nervous about moving to 9G in September but it’s OK to feel like this. I am nervous about moving to my new class too! I know you will all have a brilliant year together with Miss Hendy, Mrs England and Miss McPartlin in 9G.

We have had a very busy week in 8G this week, haven’t we? Thank you to everyone who joined in with our Morning Group on video call this week. I would love to do the same next Wednesday and Thursday so if you’d like to join, ask Mum’s or Dad’s to email me. And then on Thursday we had extra special visitors from Granada Reports who came and filmed our video call! How exciting. Mr Welsh tells us that it should be on TV next week so I will keep you all posted about the exact day and time.

I have been in school again for 2 days this week with Mrs England and Miss Aindow and Nicola, Harrison and Skye. We have been busy baking Mrs Mahood’s brownies in the Food Tech room- they smelt so good! We’ve also been reading the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory story. Harrison knows the story very well! We took it in turns to answer questions about the story and everyone tried really hard. We’ve also been having a go at some of the Six Star Challenges this week too- Harrison has got his Bronze certificate for completing 3 challenges and Nicola and Skye have got their Silver certificate’s for completing 5 out of the 6 challenges. Super work!

Ben has been enjoying making cookies at home this week, as well as matching the foods to the right description as part of his Speaking and Listening work. Mum has also sent me some videos of Ben dancing along to the Chocolatee song, and busting some moves to the Oompa Loompa dance. Super work, Ben!

Charlie has been playing on some Education City games, as well as practicing his addition using the Numicon to help him. He’s also been helping Mum to cook spaghetti bolognaise and some delicious pizza too. Great work, Charlie!

Daisy has been keeping super busy as always. She has been continuing to use Colourful Semantics to build sentences about her favourite books at home, and working hard on her Numicon work too. Daisy has been doing some Tallulah the Owl Cosmic Yoga at home and enjoying the Chocolatee dance, like Ben. Daisy and Mum have made their own very sticky lollipops this week! They look brilliant. Mum says Daisy has been a superstar in the kitchen too- helping to mash carrots and swede, and getting fresh peas out of their pods. Mum and Daisy have been becoming scientists this week and conducting their own experiment with jelly, vinegar and bicarbonate of soda. Doesn’t that sound interesting? Mum says it turned into Nanny Plum’s jelly flood from Ben and Holly! I’m sure Daisy enjoyed it. Daisy’s Viola’s are starting to flower! She has been doing a wonderful job of watering and taking care of them. Daisy has also completed all 6 of the Six Star Challenge this week again! Have a look at her photographs of all the brilliant things that she has been doing. Finally, a massive congratulation to Daisy for passing her dance exam a few weeks ago- she is now working towards Grade 1 Modern! Wonderful work, Daisy!

Francesca has been enjoying doing lots of jigsaw puzzles at home this week. Her brother George has been helping her with some school work while Mum has been at work again and Francesca has been doing some wonderful writing. She’s been having another go at matching the food to the right description and also building the words from the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory story using her letter cards. Super work, Francesca!

Jake has been enjoying getting out of the house and exploring this week. Him and Dad have been walking near the church and knocking at the door to see if anyone answers. Jake continues to help look after all of the animals that live at his house and has completed 3 Six Star Challenges- drinking more water, counting forwards and backwards and hoovering up too. Brilliant work, Jake!

Rose has been having a go at the Six Star Challenge as well this week and has completed 2 of the challenges- practicing her squats and hoovering her bedroom. She’s also been playing lots of maths themed games using a new toy that she got for her birthday, as well as learning about the months of the year and what events happen at different times of the year, and drawing shapes in chalk outside. Rose got to attend a Zoom pizza party with High Five this week with her friends from there. She had to make her own pizza, play some games and make a felt pizza too. Great work, Rose!

Our Star of the Week this week is…

Nicola! She has worked ever so hard over the last week with her writing and can now write the number 8 independently! Super work Nicola. We will give you your certificate when you are in school next week.

As next week is our last week in 8G, we are hoping to send home some fun activities for you to try so keep an eye out for those on an email on Monday. It will be our final video call together next Friday too, we will send invites out for that early next week.

Have a wonderful weekend and keep safe,
