After bushcraft and movie night on Thursday evening, all the students and staff felt tired on Friday morning. Nevertheless, our final morning of activities awaited and all were eager to try the archery and the dreaded Leap of Faith!!!
We learnt how to use a bow and arrow and use the targets. After a practice round we all had a competition. Everyone did amazingly well considering how tricky it can be to hold everything in the right place and draw the bow. After fierce competition, the winner was Jamie who shot a fantastic score of 270 over three rounds. Well done Jamie! Special mention to Mr Murphy who was not competitive at all!?...
We then put on the harnesses and helmets and climbed up the trees to platforms hidden on the canopy. We had to jump for the hanging bouy or catch the trapeze. It was tricky and although some found that nerves got the better of them at first, every single student was able to leap off into the unknown!!! Well done everyone.
Sadly, the week was over and we all packed up our things, stripped the beds and loaded onto the coach for the drive back to school. Needless to say that the classroom was very quiet while the students waited for parents and transport to take them home.
What a fabulous residential we had. The weather was fantastic, the instructors Savannah and Robin were amazing as was the food!!!
11R residential challenge accepted and smashed!!
