It's been a super busy first week back in Oak Class!

At the beginning of the week we welcomed a new friend into our class and he has had a fun week making new friends.

With Miss Hothersall we spent 3 days exploring bonfire night, we engaged in a sensory story about Bonfire Night we banged our drums to make firework noises, waved our sparklers and Miss H set off party poppers and we enjoyed watching the stream of colours that looked like fireworks. We had some yummy popcorn to smell and taste and had an exciting time.

For the rest of the week with Miss Melling we continued exploring Bonfire Night as Miss taught us all about how to keep safe. We learned to stay a safe distance from the bonfire, put on our hats scarfs and gloves to keep warm and even got to toast and eat delicious marshmellows over our very own pretend Bonfire. We loved listening to the crackling sound of the fire and watching the colours of the flames.

We had a very important celebration this week, as we got to learn about to Diwali which is the festival of lights. Miss Melling demonstrated making a Rangoli pattern and we each took terms to add coloured sand. Once we had finished this we each got to make our very own Diya Lamps with Mrs Carney. We shaped our dough, added a pattern stamp, shiny gems and stones and switched on and added our glittery tea lights. We had the best time.

So, that's it from Oak Class, we hope you enjoy the pictures of our fun first week back in school.

Happy Weekend everybody x
