Well I knew the pupils in 7A had worked hard this year and they have been rewarded by making a sweep at the Annual Secondary Awards!

Gemma (Pupil of the Year), Joseph (Secondary Positivity Value Award), Jake (Secondary Teamwork Value Award) and Alfie & Grace (School Councillor Awards). Congratulations to you all and your peers in 7A.  You all make us proud.

Back in class it has been another action packed week in 7A that has seen the pupils work on strengthening a broad range of skills. On Monday and Tuesday we had a emphasis on problem solving and teamwork which saw the pupils work together to build shelters that could withstand a heavy down pour. It was rather exciting as we simulated heavy rain! I’m not sure how I got so wet when shelters were so well built.

We have also worked on essential life skills related to first aid. I was very impressed with how much knowledge the pupils retained from our summer 1 lessons and could remember how to survey a casualty by checking for danger, seeking a response and checking the airway.   We then moved on to how to treat burns and scalds along with identifying what items in the home could cause such injuries. All the pupils showed a great understanding as the lessons progressed.

All have continued to develop their travel skills by venturing out in the community and practicing safe ways to cross roads. They have also continued their research into Viking Gods, practiced money addition problems, develop their baking skills and go swimming!

We hope you enjoy our pictures.
