We have had the best last day of the year in 10G today! We started the morning going against everything that we have been learning in our Healthy Living module by eating cheesecake (courtesy of Miss Greenwood) for breakfast! We enjoyed a good chat with each other about our plans for the holidays before a quick break outside. When we returned to the classroom, we found it had been transformed into an auditorium for our end of year award’s ceremony. Miss Greenwood and Miss Smith acted as ushers and showed everyone to their seats before Mrs Fisher kicked off the celebrations. Mrs Cobham did a fantastic job as videographer/photographer. We made our way through awards for everyone in class, also celebrating the total number of steps that each person has achieved during our Healthy Living topic over the past few months. Everyone received a medal for their efforts, we hope that they have made it home in one piece! Katie even had a heartfelt speech to deliver after receiving her awards saying how she has loved being in 10G this year and how she is really glad that she has a talent of Art. Finally, it was time to crown our ultimate step champion: Harry! Harry walked a total of 339,436 steps! This is equal to 150.63miles which is the same as Harry walked from school to Old Trafford and back again 3 times! We hope you agree that Harry did a fantastic job and he was rewarded for his efforts with his very own fitness watch to take home and keep, excellent work H!
Miss Greenwood and Mrs Fisher very kindly went to pick up our special dinner of either McDonalds or Critchley’s. Miss Greenwood set up a drive thru in Mrs Fisher's car at the front of school for everyone to come and collect their dinners. Mrs Fisher couldn't keep up with their orders! Dinner was demolished very quickly by our ravenous teenagers. Then, as an extra special treat, an ice cream van arrived outside school! We all got to choose either an ice cream or an ice lolly, they were delicious.
We ended the afternoon with Celebration Assembly where all of the class were awarded Stars of the Week.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents and carers for all of their support over the past school year. We have absolutely loved teaching your children and we cannot wait for our next year together in 11G. Thank you so much to those who sent in gifts for us to share, we really appreciate your generosity.
We want to wish all of you a very happy summer and we will see everyone back in 11G on Monday 4th September.
