After an unexpected start this week we have had a lovely week returning to school after the holidays. As previously mentioned 9A learners are now writing the blogs, so this is our week in 9A learner’s words.
”On Tuesday morning we made get well cards for a friend in our class to cheer her up. We did a shape quiz to look at what we knew about 2D and 3D shapes. We talked about what we did in the holidays and wrote it down and then drew pictures of it. In the afternoon we did a Halloween yoga, everyone found it fun. On Wednesday we did maths on our IPads looking at shapes. Then we walked to the park and had a play, we really enjoyed catching the leaves. Then we walked to Asda, we did our shopping and then we went to the cafe for dinner. After the cafe we went for a walk around town and Mrs Devlin bought us some Halloween cakes. Then it started raining so we came back to school and we ate our cakes. Finally some of us did online safety and some of us helped with the blog.
On Thursday morning we did maths and we did a shape scavenger hunt and took pictures and a tally of all of the shapes we could find around school. Then we did some reading comprehension, we read a text and then answered questions about what we had read. In the afternoon we did a drama game, we wrote a story together by giving one word each at a time. On Friday morning we had a go at creating code on our IPads to make a plane take off which was lots of fun. Then we did some reading before watching a film for golden time. In the afternoon we made our cottage pie and then watched celebration assembly.”
This weeks star of the week is Ben for showing resilience, when finding something hard in maths he continued trying. Well done Ben.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend.
