Happy New Year, we hope you all had a lovely break. We have had a lovely return to school this week and it’s been great to see all the learners and hearing about their Christmases.
This is our week in the learners words.

“On Monday morning we enjoyed having a catch up with our friends. After break we went back to the classroom and the air raid siren was playing, we all had to hide in our shelters. We started looking at world war 2. We learnt about evacuees, we made evacuation tags and we looked at where they were evacuated to and why. In the afternoon we also did some yoga to help us relax.
On Tuesday morning we did maths. We started looking at capacity on education city. Then we carried on looking at World war 2 evacuees. We had to think about what we would pack in our suitcase if we were evacuees. In the afternoon we had a music lesson. We made music on the garage band on the iPads. We all really enjoyed it. Finally some of us wrote the blog and some of us did PHSE.
On Wednesday morning we did maths and we looked at how much we could remember about capacity and then we went swimming. We did front crawl and back stroke and tried to get the brick from the bottom of the pool. In the afternoon we did yoga to help us relax. Then in understanding the world we found facts about World War 2 and pictures and put them on book creator on the IPads.
On Thursday morning we did maths. We looked at how much liquid we could fit in different containers. Then we did PE, we learnt some Charleston dance moves. In the afternoon we did yoga it made us nice and calm. After yoga we looked at World War 2 again. We pretended we were evacuees and we wrote a letter home to our families telling them about our new home. Then we did the blog and online safety.
On Friday morning we used the laptops to look at search engines and how they work. After computing we finished writing our evacuee letters, we got into character really well. In the afternoon we enjoyed golden time and then celebration assembly.
This weeks star of the week was Jake for fantastic maths work with capacity, for putting his face in the water more at swimming and for asking lots of questions about our World War 2 topic. Well done Jake.
Have a lovely restful weekend and we look forward to seeing you back on Monday.
